Still Standing

This is the Parthenon. It towers on the top of the Acropolis and dominates Athens. Was it built to glorify man through his gods or the gods through man? It is statement of democracy and the might of Greece some 500 years BC (I think). Through the upheavals of history and even the pollution of modern times, neither of which I know much about, the Parthenon still stands strong. Though its being repaired and previous well meant restorations are being put right, it remains a monument to survival. Still standing and still magnificent, scars and all.
